Final narrative ideas

Final narrative idea:

- First section of the film shows the mother and her two young daughters are embarking on a new part of their life. They have left the town where they used to live so go to a more countryside area that is situated nearer the mothers work and would benefit her life. The young girls are settling in and the young girl starts exploring the house and stumbles across a book containing sacred cult scriptures and objects e.g. book, photos and rosary.
- The trailer takes the audience back in time to flashbacks of the two young girls that used to live in the house prior to them. (Whilst this ‘modern’ young girl is looking through the objects)

1. Picks up the old photo showing the family, and then leads to a flashback showing the two sisters and what happened to them.
2. Picks up the rosary then lead to a flashback of the past sisters wearing them.

3. Picks up the newspaper clipping and could show the past sisters in a forest where the younger sister will murder her older sister. (Horrific violent scene)
- Younger girl looks at all this old cult stuff in secret then the older sister comes into room and tells her younger sister to stop messing and put away those silly old books.

- The modern older sister is not fully seen the cult box and what is in it, whereas the younger girl has, and is aware of what has happened. Could hear strange noises and whispers after looking after briefly looking at the box of things
- After experiencing these strange things, looks in the mirror and then a figure of a young girl stares back at her (EMILY THE PAST SISTER). She then turns round and no one is there.

The Amityville Horror – Typical Order of a trailer (used as a guideline)
- From the new day, on the way to their new house

- Goes back in time showing a date, with quick flashbacks of what previously happened in that house.

- Comes back to normal day, family looks all happy, however mum walks into girls room, and only the young girl can see an ‘ugly looking disturbed ghost’ in the form of another young girl, around the same age. If this ‘ghost’ was normal she would be the perfect age and type to be the young girl’s friend.
- Family getting on with their life, however strange occurrences are shown to the audience and it is clear that the family is not aware of these happenings. E.g. balloon flying out of shed door.

- Section showing the main character researching this certain type of strange occurrences e.g. Amityville horror the male investigates but in our movie case cults.
- Whilst doing research video footage contains the horrific figure that was known to have hurt the past family and cause disturbances within their new home.

- Another person in the family (sometimes, in this case the wife) researches the cult and the story of what previously happened and then seeks help from someone near to them e.g. the towns locals priest who has lived there for many years.
- Within the family the young girl is getting a thrill from interacting and talking to the ghost. However the parents are worried and are feeling like the situation is cascading. (The supernatural and found this new family and is now tormenting them however only the parents realise the danger it causes whilst the young girls are enjoying the company)

-Fast pace montage showing the terror they are experiencing and the reactions and bad emotions from the characters. Priest comes to bless house, however this attempt to get rid of the supernatural ghost fails.
- Then the trailer shows names e.g. from the producers of etc.

- Very fast montage of shots showing horrific imagery and abnormal occurrences and bloody violence that this ghost has caused: (Continue to experience the horror in their new home).
- Name of film
