Character Profiles

Name: Emilija Rybakova
Role: Alice (Present younger sister)

Alice is a young curious 10 year old girl. Her relationship with her sister is slightly strained, she therefore prefers to spend time alone, but she knows that Kate listens to her in a caring manner when needed and that she also shows authority in uncertain situations. Alice was reluctant to move into their new house and leave her friends behind, however she did not have a say in the matter.


Name: Simona Rybakova
Role: Kate (Present older sister/ Past older sister)

Kate is Alice's older sister, she is eighteen. The sister’s mother is always busy with work therefore Kate has had to take on her roll and help take care of her sister. However, she is still a teenager and enjoys those rare and precious moments when she can act like one. Kate has a hard time showing Alice that she does truly care for her; rather than just being there for her because she has to. Their encounters usually end up as ill misunderstandings.



Name: Tara Cox
Role: Wise Old Lady

The Old Lady has been a lifelong resident of the town and knows many things that others have tried to keep a secret. It is thought that she may be a former member of the cult, or perhaps just aware of their actions however she chose to stay in the town when the cult dispersed. The community see her as a crazy old lady who lingers in the town that is usually avoided by most.

Seeing as the story is about two pairs of sisters, it would have been great if we could have had access to another pair of sisters to play the other necessary roles. Both I and Simona have a sister however my sister is the same age as me as I’m a twin. This meant that it would have been unrealistic and hard to pretend that we are different ages through the use of costume.

Simonas sister is the perfect age and height play the character of Alice. The only problem is that she is the same height as Simona. The decision was made that when we shoot Emily may have to bend her knees or slouch; and Simona will have to wear shoes with thicker heels to make myself appear taller. Other than that, she was the best candidate for the job because of her more innocent face and young slim body shape and the fact that Simona and Emily look like each other, emphasising the relationship between them.

The part of the Old Lady was originally planned to be played by my mother, but she unfortunately was not available during the days when shooting need to be done to overcome this issue we decided that I could fill the role. When the old lady features in the film her face is predominantly hidden by her hair and a scarf. I will be able to put on a different croakier voice so that I can pull off the role.


Name: Arlene Rafferty
Role: The young girl who possesses the sisters new home

Our film is based on a cultic movement that is practised by the family who used to live in the house that the two young sisters and their mother, will be moving into. This house is a possessed by a figure appearing to be a young girl dressed in long white night gown with barely any of her facial features on show. The character of the possessed girl will have short thick dark hair and feature in a number of locations within the film unexpectedly to the character of Alice the younger sister.

I chose my cousin Arlene to play this roll. The reason being, that we used my cousin’s house as the main domestic location for our filming. Furthermore my cousin is the right age and size to play the role of the young possessed girl. Her character will feature mainly at the beginning and end of our trailer as she is a very important character relating to and reflecting the main narrative of our story. Arlene will be to able to play this role as she is not required to perform any sort of strenuous acting it will just be simple and easy to for her to understand.
